'Introduction to Deaf Awareness for the Dental Team'
Who: The entire dental team, receptionist to dentist - 6 hours CPD
Where: John Pounds Centre, Portsmouth, Hampshire
When: Friday, 12th September 2008, 9.30am - 4.30pm
An introduction to deaf awareness – includes types of deafness, deaf culture, communication tactics and British Sign Language. You will learn essential basic skills of being able to recognise a deaf person, understand the obstacles you need to overcome and communicate with them on an introductory level using signing, gestures and lip reading.
